9. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are one of the best duos in the NBA

When the Dallas Mavericks traded for Kyrie Irving at the 2023 NBA trade deadline, seemingly all of the national media doubted his fit next to Luka Doncic. The duo struggled to both stay healthy following the trade, and when they did share the floor together, Irving and Doncic didn't click as well as people wanted them to.

They were playing your turn my turn basketball, and they struggled in the clutch.

Dallas doubled down on their trade for Irving as they extended him on a three-year contract that offseason, it ended up paying off massively, and Irving and Doncic developed into one of the best duos in the NBA this season.

They proved all of the doubters wrong, and their chemistry on and off the floor was outstanding. The duo reportedly started spending more time together off the floor, and they looked much more comfortable sharing the floor together.

Doncic and Irving were thriving when many national media members wanted them to fail, and their on-court chemistry will grow even more heading into next season. Hardy anyone in the league can stop Doncic and Irving simultaneously, and it wouldn't be a shock to anyone if the Mavs start next season on an absolute heater and pick up where they left off.

Doncic and Irving both have deep desires to win a championship together, and 2025 may be the perfect time to do that.
