13-11: Grant Williams, Seth Curry, Derrick Jones Jr.
13. Grant Williams
Grant Williams was Dallas' marquee addition this offseason, and the Mavericks are definitely not looking to move on from him in any capacity as of right now. Williams will bring much-needed versatility for the Mavericks on defense with his ability to guard multiple positions effectively.
Williams is probably going to start from the jump in Dallas, and after inking a four-year $53 million contract at the beginning of July, it would be utterly illogical for the Mavericks to trade him unless something completely unexpected happened.
12. Seth Curry
Seth Curry landed in Dallas for a third time this offseason after tenures with the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets. Given he'll be 33 at the start of training camp, Seth's value has depreciated from what it once was before the Mavericks swapped him for Josh Richardson during the 2020 NBA draft.
That being said, by no means is Seth a negative asset. Seth is one of the best catch-and-shoot guys in the league. Seth would be a serviceable rotation piece for any contender as a sweetener in a bigger trade, but it's safe to say that it's doubtful the fan-favorite will be going anywhere before training camp starts.
11. Derrick Jones Jr.
Derrick Jones Jr. is going to bring a new level of athleticism to the Mavericks this season. Coming over from Chicago, he fits a huge position of need as a backup wing that can play switchable defense on the perimeter.
Jones Jr. signed for the veteran minimum worth $2.7 million on a one-year, fully guaranteed deal with Dallas. While his deal may be easy to throw in as a sweetener in a bigger package to another team, the Mavericks aren't going to trade him before training camp, as they haven't even seen how he fits yet.
