Ranking all 15 Dallas Mavericks players by trade value
By Brian Sweet
Ranking the Dallas Mavericks from least to most valuable trade value: 6-4
6. Olivier-Maxence Prosper
The Mavericks traded back into the first to select Prosper at this year's draft. Nico Harrison really loved this guy’s work ethic during workouts and fought to get back into the first round to draft him.
The 6-foot-8 forward has a 7-foot-1 wingspan and is going to play an important role early on for the Mavericks this upcoming season. His ability to get to the rim to get rebounds is going to help them improve in that aspect of the game this year. As a rookie, he would have plenty of trade value on the open market.
5. Dereck Lively II
The Mavericks will probably keep Lively, who was the 12th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Dallas has been looking for a true center to develop and found one in the 7-foot-1 rookie.
The Mavericks have compared him to former Mavericks center Tyson Chandler. The Mavericks will hope that Lively develops into a pick-and-roll partner for Luka Doncic. If Lively and Doncic can't get their chemistry together, there are plenty of teams that would be willing to trade for a young, defensive-minded big man.
4. Josh Green
The small forward from Australia is probably a trade piece for the Mavericks this year. The 22-year-old wing showed solid potential last year and is great on the defensive side of the ball.
Cuban has mentioned in the past that Green and Jaden Hardy are basically off-limits in trades. However, if the team lacks depth at a certain position at the trade deadline and needs to make a trade, Green could be one of the pieces that gets traded.
