1 Question for every Dallas Mavericks player as countdown to NBA Playoffs begins

2. P.J. Washington
Will P.J. Washington's shooting slump end before the playoffs?
When the Dallas Mavericks traded for P.J. Washington (subscription required) on the day of the trade deadline, it was a move that every fan loved. Many Mavs fans wanted Washington during the summer and acquiring him gave them a huge upgrade over Grant Wiliams.
Many Mavs fans started to sour on Williams due to his poor 3-point shooting and nonstop "yapping", and Dallas got rid of him at the perfect time. While Washington has been elite defensively since joining the Mavs, his 3-point shooting has been extremely shaky.
Washington is shooting 25 percent from downtown as a Mav, and his 3-point shooting from the corners has been worrisome. This is something Washington said he is having to get used to since he didn't shoot as many in Charlotte, and there is no concern from Washington or Jason Kidd on his jumper.
Yesterday during practice Washington worked on catch-and-shoot 3-pointers all the way around the arc, and his shooting must improve before the playoffs. He gets too many open looks to not be efficient, and the Mavs will be much scarier if he can be a threat from downtown.
Washington has never been an elite 3-point shooter, but he noted that this has been the worst he has ever shot and talked about how many in and outs he is getting.
