Recently acquired Mavericks guard gives key update on concerning knee injury
By Noah Weber
The Dallas Mavericks kickstarted the offseason by making a trade that seemingly every fan loved, as they traded Tim Hardaway Jr. and three second-round picks for Quentin Grimes of the Detroit Pistons.
Grimes is someone who the Mavs were linked to at the previous trade deadline, and he is going to be a great fit in Dallas due to his defensive prowess, shooting, and potential.
Grimes is still only 24 years old, and the sky is the limit for his career if he continues to develop, but there was some concern from Mavs fans regarding the knee injury that caused Grimes to only play six games for the Pistons after being traded there from the New York Knicks.
Quentin Grimes says he is '100 percent' healthy
He missed most of his time in Detroit due to muscle soreness that was in that knee, and while Mavs fans thought this knee injury would linger into this summer, and affect his development, Grimes shut down any doubts in his introductory press conference.
Grimes said that he is "100 percent" when it comes to his knee injury and that he has been in the gym working on his craft every day. Him shutting down any concerns about his knee injury gave Mavs fans a breath of fresh air, and he should be able to contribute at a high level for Dallas once the regular season hits.
Grimes has the chance to be a huge upgrade from Josh Green next season, and his 3-point shooting, defense, and improved passing will turn him into a fan favorite in Dallas. He wants to improve his playmaking with the Mavs next season, and he seems fully locked in on being an elite defender.
He takes pride in his defense, and just like Naji Marshall and Klay Thompson, he can't wait to get to work.
