6 Players who just became trade-eligible the Dallas Mavericks should trade for
By Noah Weber
5. P.J. Washington
One of Dallas Mavericks fans' favorite targets at this year's deadline is Charlotte Hornets forward P.J. Washington.
Dallas has already shown interest in making a move for Washington, and he could be someone who is moved soon, especially after the Terry Rozier trade.
This season for the Hornets, Washington is averaging 12.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game while shooting 43.0 percent from the field and 32.1 percent from downtown.
With Washington's numbers regressing from last season, he is someone who the Mavs should trade for soon. His value will likely never be this low again, and giving him a change of scenery could help his numbers skyrocket.
Playing in Dallas would be a completely different dynamic, and he would become a building block for the future while also helping the Mavs now.
Washington would become Dallas' starting four while also being able to play some small-ball center. He is a huge upgrade over Maxi Kleber, and he is also six years younger. He would provide the Mavs with defense, scoring from outside and in the paint, and some limited playmaking.
He can create his own shot when he wants to, and would help take some of the pressure off Kyrie and Luka. This move by itself doesn't make Dallas NBA Finals contenders yet, but it is a great start.
