2. Dante Exum

Dante Exum was the former 2014, fifth-overall draft selection to the Utah Jazz.

Due to a lack of shot-making and ability to perform at the NBA level, Exum would find himself overseas after the 2020-21 season. Exum would ultimately find a resurgence, and the Dallas Mavericks would sign him this offseason.

Exum now has an opportunity to prove everyone wrong and become a valuable role player on the Mavericks roster. His revitalization in his jump shot will be critical for him seeing consistent minutes for the Mavericks but his defense is what will impress most. Exum's size and wingspan help him be a valuable defensive asset.

The Dallas Mavericks, as currently constructed, have a lack of players who can defend the best guards in the world. Exum and Josh Green have their work cut out for them as they are the only players who have the ability to guard the Steph Curry's or Damian Lillard's of the world.

Exum will have an opportunity to become a vital part of the Mavericks rotation, it just hinges on his ability to stay consistent with his 3-point shooting. Last season with Serbian club Partizan Mozzart, Exum shot an astounding 44.5 percent from behind the arc. This sudden resurgence will help him become a nightly rotational piece.

Exum has a prime opportunity to shock many Mavericks fans and become a larger piece than many figured he would be.
