4. Derrick Jones Jr.

Derrick Jones Jr. has been one of the best veteran's minimum signings in the NBA this season, and the Dallas Mavericks should do whatever they can to avoid trading him.

But if a certain team were interested in making a move for him, they could do so starting on December 15. This season for Dallas, Jones Jr. is averaging 10.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game while shooting 39.6 percent from downtown for the first time in his career.

Dallas has given Jones Jr. the green light to let it fly, and he is cashing in on a high percentage of his opportunities. He has become the team's starting small forward, and his importance to the team is massive.

Whether he is scoring in transition with a big slam, playing sound defense on the perimeter, or knocking down a corner three off a pass from Luka Doncic, Jones Jr. looks right at home with this Mavs team. He looks comfortable and is playing the best basketball of his career.

Jones Jr. is someone who could be extremely valuable at the deadline to contenders as he is on an expiring veteran's minimum contract, but I don't see Dallas moving him unless they absolutely have to.

It may be hard to keep Jones Jr. in Dallas long term due to the amount of money he could command in free agency if he keeps this level of play up, but he seems to love playing next to Doncic in Dallas.
