The big question of the Dallas Mavericks' offseason is if they will extend fourth-year guard Josh Green.

Dallas drafted Green with the No. 18 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and is due for an extension this summer.

It was reported that Dallas and Green have started discussing a potential extension, and Green wants to be on the Mavs long-term, but should they extend him or trade him while they can?

Acclaimed NBA Champion guard praises Mavericks' Josh Green

His value is high right now, and his development and progress as a player are looking bright, and his teammates and players around the league are taking notice.

Green is playing for Australia in the FIBA World Cup, and his teammate Patty Mills is taking notice of Green's improvement. Here's what Mills had to say in a recent interview about Green.

"His development at both ends of the floor has been huge," Mills said. "You've seen it in his play in Dallas and now coming back here. He's another one of those guys that do all of the little things right."

Doing "all of the little things right" is something that not many players do anymore, and you can always count on Green being reliable in that way. He hustles for long rebounds, flies around the floor, and brings intensity on the defensive end.

Every team needs a player like Green, and Mills' compliment helps show just how far he has come. He has turned into a reliable shooter and occasional ball handler offensively while also being a great perimeter defender.

Green has shown tremendous improvement with Australia this summer, and he and Mills have been key pieces to Australia's success. Mills is averaging 18.6 points per game, while Green is averaging 8.2 points per game.

Mills has career averages of 9.0 points and 2.3 assists per game and won the NBA Finals in 2014 with the San Antonio Spurs. He knows what it takes to be a winner in the NBA, and hopefully Green will follow in his fellow countryman's footsteps.

It looks as if Green could join the starting lineup next season as the starting wing, and hopefully his game will take another jump.

We'll have you covered with all the latest news and rumors on Josh Green and the Dallas Mavericks this summer, so stay tuned.
