Mavericks news: Luka Doncic gives Jason Kidd gift, Maxi Kleber injury update, more

Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic has his own signature shoe on the market, and the Luka 1s are one of the most comfortable sneakers out there. Fans have seen multiple players wearing them in games this season, including Doncic himself. The 23-year-old star loves shoes, and he has been generously gifting them to teammates and his coaching.
Luka gave head coach Jason Kidd a special gift before the team’s game in Portland on Jan. 15. Doncic had a Luka 1 colorway made to resemble Kidd’s former kicks, and he gave them to his head coach. Fans can see the video below.
Luka missed the game with an ankle injury as the Mavericks lost their second straight and finished their road trip 1-4. They are excited to return to Dallas and get back on track on Wednesday night against the Hawks.

Maxi Kleber was spotted shooting on the court before Sunday’s game, and the team is hopeful that he can return after the All-Star. He had surgery for a torn hamstring, but Kleber is making progress, and the Mavs certainly need him back.
Jason Green is expected to return on Wednesday against the Hawks. He has not played since Dec. 9 because of an elbow injury. If Green returns, he will have missed 20 games with the injury.

The NBA wants to keep expanding its preseason slate, and they hope to play games in 2024 in Africa. It would be the first time two NBA teams played a game on the continent.
