1. Victor Wembanyama

Last week's rank: 1

Victor Wembanyama hasn't let off the gas one bit since taking over the rookie rankings. Wembanyama hasn't only played amazing this season but has only gotten better in the last few weeks.

Despite only winning three of their last 14 games, the San Antonio Spurs have found a true superstar in the making with Wembanyama. Wemby has always been a big-time prospect but fans are just now taking notice of how great he has been.

Over the last two weeks, Wembanyama has taken over in every game he has played. This past week, the Spurs took on the Detroit Pistons in a battle for last place. The Spurs not only dominated, but Wemby walked out with a triple-double. This was officially Wembanyama's first career triple-double.

Defensively, Wembanyama has emerged as this rookie class's best defender. Over his last four games, Wembanyama has blocked an astounding 14 shots. This includes a zero-block performance against the Pistons.

Wembanyama still has a lot to improve upon before he reaches an all-star level of play, but it isn't long before Wembanyama is there. If he isn't there this season, then he will be next year. Fans can only anticipate how great the 19-year-old will be this time next year.

The San Antonio Spurs will have their work cut out for them next week as they play the Atlanta Hawks on TNT. Tonight, the Spurs will take on fellow rookie Brandon Miller in an East vs West showdown.
