3. Jamie Jaquez Jr.

Last week's rank: 3

Jaime Jaquez Jr. has once again proven why he is among the elite in his rookie class, but can he make the leap to a one or two spot?

Jaquez Jr. has once again had another dominant week of basketball. He has not only proven fans wrong but also other teams wrong, as he is dominating the teams who passed on him during the draft. Jaquez Jr. was never a high-class rookie out of UCLA, but teams knew his limitations.

Jaquez Jr. has proven to be a positionless player, which is the future of this league. There have been times that he was asked to be the lead ball handler and other times, he was asked to hunker down in the forward position. Jaquez Jr. has done it all and has exceeded in his role.

Despite not producing like he did on Christmas night, Jaquez Jr. has continued to produce around the margins. In Wednesday night's loss to the Thunder, Jaquez Jr. scored 21 points and had a big role on defense.

Offensively, Jaquez Jr. has expanded his game a lot since coming into the league. The 22-year-old is currently on a five-game double-digit scoring streak and hasn't failed to score under double-digits in the entire month of January.

The Miami Heat and Jaquez Jr. will have their hands full tonight as they play their in-state foe. The Magic are riding high this season, so this will be an intriguing matchup for fans to keep their eyes on.
