The Dallas Mavericks have made plenty of expected and unexpected moves this offseason.

The most expected move was obviously re-signing Kyrie Irving, but there have been a few moves that no one was expecting.

One of those moves was re-signing Markieff Morris. Although this signing hasn't been made official yet, it has been reported that Morris is returning to Dallas.

This move wasn't expected as Morris didn't do too much after arriving in Dallas as part of the Kyrie Irving trade, but he could be a rotation piece as he should be fully recovered from injury.

Both Markieff and his brother Marcus are known for getting into scuffles and talking trash, and it sounds like Markieff just fueled the fire with his seeming-to-be ongoing beef with Denver Nuggets superstar center Nikola Jokic.

In a game on November 8, 2021, Jokic grabbed a rebound and pushed the ball in transition. To stop Denver's five-on-four break, Morris fouled Jokic by running into him as he made a pass, putting his elbow into Jokic's ribs.

It was a bit of a hard take foul, and Jokic didn't take it lightly.

As Morris walked away, Jokic ran at him and body-checked him from behind, sending Morris to the floor.

This whiplash injury from the cheap shot from Jokic caused Morris to miss considerable time, and it sounds like the Mavericks forward is vowing for revenge.

Markieff and Marcus were both on the "ALL THE SMOKE" podcast, and Markieff touched on the "sucker shot" from Jokic.

"It was a sucker shot. He's going to get his though."

Markieff Morris

Long story short, this is Markieff Morris letting the world know that revenge is coming for Nikola Jokic. Markieff says that he wasn't trying to hurt Jokic, but Jokic took it that way, so it'll be interesting to see them matchup again.

Markieff doesn't back down from anyone, and it sounds like he'll have something up his sleeve for Jokic next time they play. The Mavs' first game against the Nuggets is on November 3, which also happens to be their first game of the NBA's new In-Season Tournament.

Markieff and Jokic may never share the floor in that game, but it will still be a must-watch game as the Mavs make their NBA In-Season Tournament debut against one of the best teams in the NBA.

We'll have you covered with all the latest news and rumors surrounding Markieff Morris and the Dallas Mavericks this offseason, so stay tuned.
