Last night, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 120-113. This win against Memphis marked the 14th victory of the Mavericks' season.

Dallas is now 14-8 on the season as they enter a tough stretch of games. Against Memphis, Dallas missed Kyrie Irving, Grant Williams, Tim Hardaway Jr., Josh Green, and Maxi Kleber. All the aforementioned players were held out due to various injuries.

While none of the injuries are major, the Mavs appear shorthanded for the time being. Fortunately for Dallas, Luka Doncic is healthy and on quite the tear.

Mavericks star Luka Doncic sets must-see NBA record in win over Grizzlies

On Monday night, Doncic scored 35 points, to go along with eight rebounds and six assists. Doncic also knocked down five 3-pointers, putting himself in elite company.

The Dallas star is now the second-fastest player in NBA history to knock down 1,000 career 3-pointers. Also, after knocking down that 1000th three, Doncic becomes the youngest player in NBA history to reach such a mark.

Coming into the league, Doncic's 3-point shooting was shaky at best. He shot 32.7 percent in year one and declined to shoot 31.6 percent in year two.

However, after a rough stretch of shooting to begin his career, Doncic has knocked down above 34 percent of his 3-pointers in every season since 2020. This year, Doncic is shooting a career-high 38.2 percent from beyond the arc.

Another testament to Doncic's best 3-point shooting season, he's also attempting the most three balls per game. The Maverick guard is knocking down 3.9 of his 10.2 attempts from deep per game.

The Slovenian star is one of the best scorers in the league, but also one of the best shooters. He is currently second in 3-pointers made this season, behind the one and only Steph Curry.

A week after moving into the top 10 all-time in triple-doubles, Doncic has once again rewrote the record books. The do-it-all superstar is surely one of the most entertaining players in the association and might be on his way to winning his first MVP.
