Mavs guard Luka Doncic makes children's dreams come true in Madrid on preseason trip
By Noah Weber
The Dallas Mavericks fulfilled one of Luka Doncic's dreams this week as they traveled to Madrid to play Real Madrid in a preseason game. Dallas lost this game, but it was a special night for Doncic as he grew up playing for Real Madrid.
He learned everything there, and it formed him into who he is today on and off the court. Madrid still is close to his heart, and Doncic was frustrated that he didn't get to play a full game there due to a calf injury.
Along with Tuesday's game, Doncic also decided to give back by visiting a hospital with a couple of his teammates.

Doncic went to a children's hospital in Madrid along with Dwight Powell and Grant Williams for the Luka Doncic Foundation. Luka was seen autographing jerseys for these young fans and presenting them with gift baskets.
Doncic is an international celebrity in Madrid, so him making an appearance at this hospital and giving back to these children is a dream come true for them. Luka gave these kids a memory that they would have for a lifetime, and he was constantly seen signing autographs and interacting with fans during his time on this trip.
This was a great way for Doncic and company to give back before the rigorous NBA season started, and it was likely the only time he would be in Spain for a while. Doncic cherishes Madrid, and his acts of kindness this week showed that.
The Mavs' first regular season game is on October 25 against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.
