On Christmas night, against the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks' star Luka Doncic broke the 10,000-point plateau. He became the fastest player to reach such a milestone since Michael Jordan.

Doncic only needed 11 points to reach the 10,000-point mark. Nevertheless, Doncic obliterated that total, dropping 50 points on the Suns. He did so by knocking down 15-25 field goal attempts, 8-16 3-pointers, and all twelve free throw attempts.

The records continue to pile up for the Slovenian star. He also joined Bernard King, Wilt Chamberlin, and Rick Barry as the only players to score 50 or more points on Christmas.

At 24 years, and 300 days old, Doncic became the sixth youngest player to surpass 10,000 points. The only players to do so at a younger age are LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, and Tracy McGrady. Quite the elite company.

Now that he's reached 10,000 career points, Doncic qualifies for the all-time points per game leaderboard.

He currently ranks 3rd all-time, below all-time greats, Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlin. Although it seemed like yesterday when the Mavs selected Doncic third overall, he's already transformed into a full-fledged star.

At such a young age, Doncic has accomplished a lot. He's a four-time All-Star, four-time All-NBA First Teamer, and NBA Rookie of the Year. It's only a matter of time before the third-highest average scorer of all time wins an MVP Award and he is deep in the race right now.

Every player on the top ten list besides Elgin Baylor and Jerry West has won an MVP Award. Although neither player brought home the game's highest individual honor, each player won a championship and made an All-NBA Team 10 or more times.

While Doncic is young, there's no reason not to believe that he'll ascend to legendary status sooner than later. Whether it be winning a championship or continuing his greatness, there's not much left Doncic to accomplish.
