Dallas was playing at an elite level heading into the game, and they were outplaying everyone's expectations.

At the end of the third quarter, Dallas trails 99-88 and is in need of some more magic in order to improve to 7-1.

This year's clutch success has been led by Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, and they have flipped the narrative from last year that they were a bad clutch team.

Dallas' game with Toronto was going to be a tough one from the start, and one NFL player who knows all about tough games was in attendance for the game.

During the middle of the first quarter, Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes made his way to his seat at center court along with his wife, Brittany. Patrick is a big Mavs fan, and the Chiefs are on bye this week, giving him the perfect opportunity to catch a game at the American Airlines Center.

Towards the end of the second quarter, Champ (the Mavs' mascot) presented Patrick and Brittany with signed Luka Doncic Dallas Mavericks jerseys. This was an awesome gesture by Doncic, as he showed his appreciation to the Mahomes family for being MFFLs.

The AAC erupted when they showed Patrick and Brittany on the big screen, as Patrick is one of the best quarterbacks the NFL has ever seen.

It's unknown if Patrick and Luka will chop it up after the game, but it's clear that the two are friends as they always seem to get a photo together and talk when Patrick stops by a Mavs game.
