Mavericks star Luka Doncic's 73-point game made ESPN analyst look foolish
The Dallas Mavericks recently faced off against the Atlanta Hawks, where Luka Doncic tallied a new career-high 73 points and secured a 148-143 win for the Mavericks.
The 2024 NBA All-Star starting lineups came out the night before and there was a lot of media speculation about who should and shouldn't be starting in this year’s All-Star Game.
ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins who is a known critic of Luka Doncic had much to say about him starting in this year's All-Star game, specifically over Timberwolves' star guard Anthony Edwards.

Perkins released this tweet after the All-Star starters were selected, inferring that Edwards should have been a starter over Doncic.
Despite Doncic leading in every statistic except 3-point and free throw percentage compared to Edwards, Perkins decided this rant was valid.
The way Luka scored 73 after catching slander from the All-Star lineup the recent Phoenix Suns matchup was immaculate. It's almost as if he made Kendrick Perkins and other analysts look foolish.
There has been a nasty narrative around Doncic and the Mavericks all year long. Scoring 73 points doesn't even grant positive media coverage, as Stephen A. Smith also denounced the Atlanta Hawks defense instead of praising Luka Doncic.
It seems it's the Mavericks vs everyone with the way this season is treating the team. If injuries straighten out the Mavericks are still in the thick of the Western Conference and could be poised to make a run.
