The Dallas Mavericks are coming off one of their better wins of the season after beating the Denver Nuggets 107-105 in spectacular fashion yesterday.
With Luka Doncic rejoining the lineup, it was clear this would be a big game for the two MVPs. We saw a strong defensive effort from both teams as this game came down to the final possession.
With the last shot of the game, Kyrie Irving makes the most spectacular game-winning shot we've seen all year. A left-handed skyhook from just inside the 3-point line is incredible. This unbelievable shot continues to remind fans of how tough of a shotmaker and how skilled Irving truly is.
Mavericks star Luka Doncic '100 percent' deserves MVP according to other frontrunner
Throughout the game, Luka was making his MVP case clear. As he got whatever he wanted on offense, this allowed the Mavericks to take control of the game.
It was also reported by the ESPN broadcast during the game that the two-time MVP and reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic said Doncic "100 percent" deserves the MVP award this year.
There's no secret that the relationship Jokic and Luka have made is pure. The fun and laughter these guys have when they get around each other make it fun for the fanbases as well.
Between All-Star games, the NBA Bubble, and leisure time during the offseason, it seems Jokic and Doncic enjoy each other's company.
If the Mavericks can build on Sunday's win and continue to rise in the Western Conference standings, it'll build Luka's MVP case for him. His numbers already have made his case, and now the team just needs to win a few more games and soon Nikola won't be the only one calling for Luka's MVP.
The team has a good stretch of games coming up, it'll be interesting to see how the West continues to shake up. For more updates on Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, stay tuned.
