2. Michael Finley

Current Dallas Mavericks Vice President of Basketball Operations Michael Finley is also easily one of the best players to ever wear a Dallas Mavericks uniform, as Finley was an excellent two-way wing who played nine seasons with the Mavericks.

Finley was a ball stopper defensively and was also the ultimate ironman for the Mavericks when he was in Dallas, as he averaged over 40 minutes in four of his seasons with the team and played all 82 games in three of his seasons with the Mavericks as well.

Finley was a tried-and-true bucket getter and an explosive athlete, as he was a capable three-level scorer in an era where the pace of play was much slower and teams didn't elect to take near as many 3-pointers as they do nowadays. Finley was a solid rebounder for his size as well and he rounded himself into a very good secondary playmaker throughout the latter half of his time in Dallas, all while being one of the best point-of-attack defenders in the league on the other side of the ball.

Finley was an extremely dynamic wing and even had sprinkles of Michael Jordan's shot creation and post-up ability in his game as well, and he is certainly a player who would've probably put up even better numbers if he played in today's game.

In Finley's best season in Dallas during the 1999-00 NBA season, he averaged 22.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.3 rebounds while playing and starting in every single game that season.

While Finley is only 14 years removed from his playing days and was never able to win a championship during his time in Dallas, he had one of the best careers in Mavericks history in both the regular season and playoffs whilst being a great teammate and mentor to Dirk Nowitzki during his formative seasons in the league, so it's without a doubt that he deserves to have his No. 4 jersey hanging in the rafters in the AAC.
