The Dallas Mavericks have now lost four of their last five games, and many of their struggles are being magnified due to their inability to play consistently.

One of Dallas' biggest struggles has been the poor play of Tim Hardaway Jr., and they need him to be much better if Jason Kidd is going to keep him in the rotation. Kidd only played Hardaway Jr. for 15 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, and this could be a sign that his role may decrease more.

As we look ahead to Dallas' matchup with the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday, Mavs star Kyrie Irving reassured fans that they will figure things out even though they are struggling right now.

"We're going to be okay, that's for everybody watching at home" Irving said. "We gotta trust that we’ll be able to put the work in necessary to get us these wins. We've shown it before...No more excuses."

Irving took full accountability here and seems confident that Dallas can turn things around. This is the same team that just won seven games in a row, and they can get back to playing that way if everyone is bought in and they bring great energy.

A lack of energy has been an issue for the Mavs in many of their losses this season, and Luka Doncic and Irving must lead this team, set the tone, and bring the energy early on in games. If the stars bring the energy, the rest of the team will follow.

It's too late in the year to be dropping games that they should be winning, and they must do whatever they can to avoid missing the playoffs like they did last year. This roster is too good to be missing the playoffs, and they need to figure out how to play together again and play with some urgency as the end of the season gets closer every day.

For all the latest on Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, Jason Kidd, and the Dallas Mavericks this season, stay tuned.
