The Dallas Mavericks are rolling to start the season, as they have won six of their first eight games and are in second place in the Western Conference.
This is a surprise to most of the national media, as most media members doubted the Mavs and their potential success heading into the year, but the national media is still finding a way to hate on Dallas despite their success.
Luka Doncic has been elite for Dallas this year and is averaging 31.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 8.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 38.8 percent from downtown.
NBA analyst brutally disrespects Mavericks star Luka Doncic with recent ranking
He is shooting and defending better than he ever has and has been crucial for Dallas in the clutch, but the national media still doesn't want him to give him credit.
On ESPN's NBA Today, Kendrick Perkins ranked his top five offensive players in the NBA and left off Luka. The players that he ranked above Luka are Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid, and Jayson Tatum.
Doncic averages more points per game than every player on that list other than Embiid and averages more assists per game than every player on that list.
So how did he not make the top five offensive players in the NBA, or even the top two?
Perkins' list makes no sense, and his bias against Doncic and the Mavs is clear here. There is no reason that Luka shouldn't be listed as a top-five offensive player on this list, but what Perkins says honestly doesn't matter.
As long as Dallas keeps winning games and Luka continues to play at a high level, he won't just be one of the best offensive players in the NBA. He will be a frontrunner for MVP and show the league just how good he is.
Doncic's next chance to put the league on notice is tonight (November 10) against the LA Clippers.
