The Dallas Mavericks were some of the biggest winners from the trade deadline as they addressed two of their biggest needs.

Grant Williams had been underperforming for months, and the starting power forward spot was not in a good place. As a result of this, Dallas traded for Charlotte Hornets forward P.J. Washington.

Earlier that day, Dallas traded for Washington Wizards center Daniel Gafford. Dallas needed insurance behind Dereck Lively II badly, and Gafford is already looking like an amazing pickup.

Despite acing the trade deadline, there are a few players that Dallas could have considered trading for.

The Mavs still have a few needs, and they could have considered making at least one more move. Here are five recently traded players from across the league that the Mavs should've snagged themselves.

5. Patrick Beverley

Patrick Beverley was recently traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, and he is someone who the Dallas Mavericks could have pursued to fill the hole at the backup point guard spot. The backup point guard spot has been a hidden weakness of Dallas as of late, especially when Kyrie Irving was out because the team's offense lacked direction.

This weakness has almost gone away since Irving returned, but they still need one more creator. Beverley can create for teammates, and his defense and playoff experience would be valued in Dallas.

This season, Beverley is averaging 6.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 0.5 steals per game while shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 33.0 percent from downtown. Beverley is nearing the back half of his career, but he could be a solid piece for the Mavs.

Beverley hounds ball handlers, and he doesn't need to score to make his impact felt. He is notorious for his trash talk, and he has spoken highly of Luka Doncic in the past.
