Why the Dallas Mavericks would be the perfect landing spot for Jaden Hardy

Hardy is 6’4 with a 6’9 wingspan. He has plenty of size and skill to make a massive leap forward as he reaches his prime. The 19-year-old is one inch taller and has a one-inch longer wingspan than Wizards superstar Bradley Beal.

Hardy needs to go to a team that can help him pick his spots better. He showcased plenty of scoring, shot-making, and playmaking ability, but his decision-maker dropped him from a projected top-five pick to the late first round.

The Dallas Mavericks have Hall of Fame point guard Jason Kidd as their head coach and arguably the league’s best playmaker in Luka Doncic. It is the perfect opportunity for Hardy to come in and learn from two of the best. Kidd puts his ball-handlers in positions to succeed, and the 6’4 prospect could quickly take his game to another level in Dallas.

Coach Kidd also installed a defense-first mentality after taking over in the summer of 2021. Jaden Hardy has the size and athletic ability to hold his own on that end of the floor, but he needs to commit to playing hard on every possession. The Mavericks could bring the best out of him on the defensive end of the floor too.
