On Monday, it was revealed that all 30 teams would have a special edition court for the inaugural In-Season Tournament.
Rather than the traditional coloring, the hardwood will be fully pained in two tones of grey. Similar to this season's rumored City Edition jersey, the grey theme is apparent.
Dallas Mavericks infuriate fans with new In-Season Tournament Court
The courts are unlike anything we've seen before in the NBA. Not one team will play on a traditional woodgrain court. Most courts will resemble the color pattern of each team's City Edition jerseys.
Additionally, each court will feature the In-Season Tournament Trophy at mid-court. There will also be what resembles the trophy painted within each key, starting at the baseline and extending to the free-throw line.
Fans will get their first sight of the court on November 10, as they take on the Los Angeles Clippers in their second of four In-Season Tournament games. The next time the court will be featured is at the end of November. The Mavs play their fourth game and final In-Season Group Tournament game on November 28, against the Houston Rockets.
Despite some teams receiving positive reactions from fans regarding their new courts, Mavs fans have not responded well. Most fans don't seem to like the rumored City Edition jerseys to begin with, and fans' reactions to the new court have been just as bad.
This court could end up looking much better in person, but until fans get to see it inside the American Airlines Center it seems that the general consensus about this court is a negative one.
Leading up to the In-Season Tournament, the Mavericks have exceeded expectations, beginning the season with three straight wins. With a game against the 2-2 Chicago Bulls up next, Dallas could very well enter the tournament with a spotless record.
Mavericks superstar guard Luka Doncic has dominated in Dallas' first three games, and the Mavs have a 3-0 record for the first time since 2004.
