The Dallas Mavericks have almost finished Summer League, and everyone is raving about their two first-round picks.

Dereck Lively II is slowly living up to his Tyson Chandler comparisons, while Olivier-Maxence Prosper is exactly what they need on the wing. The draft couldn't have gone much better for the Mavs, but fans are a little frustrated with free agency so far.

Even though the Mavs re-signed Kyrie Irving and brought back Seth Curry, fans expected more.

Free agency rumors: Dallas Mavericks interested in elite scorer

The Mavs have had a productive offseason, but they still need to add at least one more role player to solidify the roster around Luka Doncic and Irving. According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Mavericks are interested in one of the best available free agents.

Scotto reported that Dallas is interested in Kelly Oubre Jr.

Oubre Jr. had the best season of his career last season for the Charlotte Hornets and averaged 20.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. He is an excellent scorer and athlete. Oubre Jr. loves to get to the rim and finishes with dunks often. He'd be a great player to bring off the bench in Dallas and would provide consistent scoring every night.

He also could likely be signed to a team-friendly contract, and it would be a bargain to land Oubre Jr. on a contract of around $5 million annually. He isn't going to be a player that Dallas leans hard on for scoring, but he would give the Mavs bench another great scorer as they already have Jaden Hardy and Seth Curry coming off the bench.

Stay tuned to see if the Mavericks decide to bring in Oubre Jr. He would be a great veteran piece for this team, and the Mavs should get him while his value is as low as it is.
