SG: Josh Green

The Dallas Mavericks and Josh Green have reportedly started contract extension talks, and Green seems like he wants to stay in Dallas. It remains unknown if Dallas will extend him, but if Green's player development goes the way that it should, he will be a reliable starter at this point in his career and potentially a high-end starter.

Green is a player that teams have been calling about because of his high upside, and his defense, energy, and athleticism make him the perfect fit next to Luka Doncic.

In three seasons for the Mavs, Green averaged 5.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.6 steals per game. These stats may seem underwhelming, but his improvement as a secondary playmaker and shooter off the catch is intriguing.

Last season for the Mavs, Green shot 40.2 percent from downtown. He was the only Maverick to shoot over 40 percent from downtown last season other than Jaden Hardy, and he must continue to excel in that role as Doncic creates plenty of open looks for him.

This shooting guard spot could still be reserved for Kyrie Irving if things go well for him in Dallas throughout his contract, but he would be 36 years old at this point. Irving also isn't known for staying on teams for long since leaving Cleveland, and Green developing into a star would be a dream come true for the Mavs organization.
