What would it cost for Dallas Mavericks to acquire OG Anunoby?
The Mavs have limited trade assets this summer, and acquiring a difference-maker could rest on keeping their first-round draft pick. They owe it top ten protected to the New York Knicks from the Kristaps Porzingis trade. Dallas finished with the tenth-worst record but need to stay in the top ten after the lottery. They have a 79.8 percent chance to keep the selection, but it is no guarantee.
Having a top-ten pick plus a 2027 first-rounder to throw into a deal could net the Mavericks a premium asset, but even that may not be enough to land Anunoby.
The Memphis Grizzlies and Indiana Pacers both reported offered three first-round picks (subscription required) for OG ahead of the trade deadline. In the same piece, Zach Lowe reported that Toronto was asking for “a high-level player or prospect along with draft picks” for the 6’7 wing.
The Dallas Mavericks will only have two first-round picks to offer in any deal this summer. Josh Green and Jaden Hardy are their top young talents, but neither has superstar potential. Would a package involving two draft choices, a young talent, and some salary matching be enough? Bleacher Report thinks so.
