With the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft beginning now, rumors have been flying left and right about different teams across the league.

Although the Dallas Mavericks didn't have a first-round selection last night, they will pick today with the No. 58 overall selection. Dallas has shown interest in drafting Bronny James with that pick, although it seems unlikely he will fall that far.

Whether or not Dallas keeps the No. 58 overall pick remains to be unseen, and a huge trade could be on the move with one of the Mavs' veterans.

Mavericks could trade Josh Green to help them trade Tim Hardaway Jr.

The Mavs are looking to trade Tim Hardaway Jr. this offseason, and one of the potential suitors for Hardaway Jr. could be the Detroit Pistons. Dallas has already been linked to Quentin Grimes if they were to trade Hardaway Jr. to the Pistons, and it helps that Dennis Lindsey is now working for the Pistons.

While many Mavs fans are happy to see Hardaway Jr. get out of town, another player could be on the trade block with him that Mavs fans would likely hate to see leave.

Matt Moore of Action Network speculates that along with Hardaway Jr., Josh Green is another name that is "most consistently discussed in trade talks." Interest in Green from around the league dates back to last summer, and the Mavs could trade Green in a deal involving Hardaway Jr. as a sweetener to get the deal through.

Green is entering his fifth season in the NBA, and he has yet to show his full potential. Last season for Dallas, Green averaged 8.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 0.8 steals per game while shooting 47.9 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from downtown.

He has been a hard-working two-way player in Dallas for his entire career, and this summer may finally be the time that he gets traded. This would hurt, considering his upside and fit in Dallas, but it wouldn't be a shock if he's moved if the right deal presents itself.

Dallas has been trying to move Hardaway Jr. for years now, and including Green in the trade may be the perfect way for a team to take on his contract.

For all the latest on Tim Hardaway Jr., Josh Green, and the Dallas Mavericks this season, stay tuned.
