Clippers guard Russell Westbrook throws shade at Mavericks star Luka Doncic
By Noah Weber
On Saturday night, the Dallas Mavericks fell to the LA Clippers 107-88.
This was Dallas' third loss in the last four games, and Dallas' offense seems to be cooling off a bit.
Even with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving having a solid game, the Clippers were too much for Dallas. Paul George finished with 25 points and Norman Powell finished with 15 points off the bench. Dereck Lively II's absence was easily noticed, as Ivica Zubac dominated Dallas on the glass, pulling down 14 rebounds.

During the game, Clippers star Russell Westbrook threw some subtle shade at Doncic.
In the fourth quarter, Westbrook finished a strong drive to the bucket with an and-one layup with Doncic guarding him. After the bucket, Westbrook walked over to the Clippers bench and told his teammates to "go at him."
Westbrook clearly liked having Luka guard him some last night and took a stab at Doncic's defense with this comment.
Doncic's defense isn't as bad as it used to be, but it seems that Westbrook and the Clippers considered him the weak link on the Mavs defensively.
The Mavs and Clippers already have a strong rivalry because of their playoff matchups during the 2020 and 2021 Playoffs, and Westbrook threw some fuel into the fire with his comment about Doncic's defense.
Dallas and Doncic's next chance to get some revenge on Westbrook and the Clippers is on December 12.
The Mavs' next game is on Tuesday night against the Houston Rockets, and the Mavs will need to bounce back with a win. The Mavericks are currently the third seed in the Western Conference, but a loss on Tuesday could cause Dallas to drop in the standings as several teams are right on their heels.
For all the latest on Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks this season, stay tuned.
