Mavericks big man Christian Wood lands endorsement deal with Adidas

The Dallas Mavericks traded their 2022 first-round draft pick and four players that were outside their playoff rotation for Christian Wood in the offseason. The 6’10 big man gives them a plus rebounder and talented offensive weapon that can play off of Luka Doncic. Wood is excited to be on the first contending team of his career, and he is focused on winning games.

The 27-year-old is in the final year of his contract, and there are questions about whether he will extend with the Mavericks at some point this season or hit free agency. Wood was a different kind of free agent until Wednesday as his sneaker rights were up for grabs

Wood joins a talented group of NBA players signed with Adidas. From James Harden to Damian Lillard to Donovan Mitchell, the company is a major sneaker brand and player in the league, and Wood is excited to join the family.

He mostly wore Nike shoes last season with the Rockets, but C-Wood will be making the switch to Adidas now that he is in Dallas. Expect to see him rocking some fire kicks in the weeks ahead as his new endorsement deal gets underway.

Wood is currently coming off the bench for the Mavericks, but he has showcased his potential in the first six games. Will C-Wood eventually play his way into the starting five? Can he be a game-changer for the Mavs? Those are questions he will be looking to answer this season.
