4. Olivier-Maxence Prosper
One move that excited seemingly every Dallas Mavericks fan on draft night was when they drafted Olivier-Maxence Prosper from Marquette. The Mavs needed more size on the wing, and Prosper's 3-and-D ability looked to be a match made in heaven.
Prosper started off hot in the NBA Summer League, and heading into the season there were reports that he would be in the rotation right away. Some people even believed that he would be getting more minutes than Dereck Lively II at the start of the season.
That obviously isn't true now, and Prosper could be someone that Dallas looks to move this summer, regardless of how high his potential is. This season for the Mavs' Prosper is averaging 2.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game while shooting 35.1 percent from the field and 23.5 percent from downtown. Prosper has shown potential in some games, but he has also shown that he is not ready to contribute just yet.
Prosper looks like he could be Dallas' x-factor next year if he keeps developing in the G League, but the Mav may not want to wait around. The Mavs want to win right now, and if the right deal presents itself, they could include Prosper.
I expect Prosper to be someone that the Mavs continue to develop and be patient with, but I don't think he's untouchable by any means.
