8. Danny Green

Fans know head coach Jason Kidd loves to bring in people from his time with the Lakers. Assistant coaches Greg St. Jean, Jared Dudley, and Quinton Crawford were all with him in LA. The Mavs signed JaVale McGee last offseason, and they brought in Markieff Morris in the Kyrie Irving trade. Both players were on the Lakers during Kidd’s two seasons there.

Green was a starter and key 3-and-D wing on the Lakers' 2020 championship squad. It was his third championship ring, and the 6’6 wing has played in the playoffs every year since 2011. Wherever Green goes, the team wins.

He missed the majority of this season recovering from a torn ACL, but Green played 11 regular season games and has been in the Cavaliers playoff rotation in two of their first three games against the Knicks in the opening round.

Green nearly signed with the Mavericks when he was a free agent in 2019, but he decided to join LeBron James and the Lakers.

Would the 6’6 wing be interested in coming to Dallas this summer to play with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving? The Mavs certainly need wing depth, and the veteran brings championship experience and a prior relationship with head coach Jason Kidd.
