9. Montrezl Harrell

Harrell’s lone season with the Lakers did not go as planned, and that was Jason Kidd’s final season in LA as an assistant coach. The 6’7 big man won Sixth Man of the Year in 2020, and he had to choose between the Lakers and Clippers in free agency. Both teams planned on contending for the title, and it was the defending champions that inked Harrell.

Trez struggled to get consistent minutes down the stretch as the Lakers were loaded in the frontcourt, and he was even out of the rotation for two games in the playoffs. LA had Anthony Davis, Marc Gasol, Andre Drummond, and Harrell competing for minutes, and Vogel often mixed things up as the Lakers were knocked out by the Suns in the opening round of the postseason.

He spent just one season in LA, and Harrell has played for four different teams since leaving the Clippers in 2020. This season, he was a backup big man for the Sixers where he has struggled to get consistent minutes behind Joel Embiid.

The 29-year-old big man will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and he will be looking for a consistent backup role. The Dallas Mavericks do not need another big man that struggles on the defensive end of the floor, so expect Montrezl Harrell to sign elsewhere.
