10. Damian Jones

Jones was the last pick of the first round by the Warriors in 2016, and he was a reserve big man on back-to-back championship teams in his first two NBA seasons. The 6’11 big man spent his first three years in Golden State before playing for five different teams over the next four years.

Jones crossed paths with coach Kidd in 2021 when he signed two ten-day contracts with the Lakers. He played in eight games and averaged 5.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks in 14.0 minutes per night. It paved the way for Jones to sign a multi-year deal with LA last summer, but he was traded to the Jazz in the deal that brought D’Angelo Russell, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Malik Beasley to the Lakers.

Damian Jones has a $2.5 million player option for next season that he would need to decline to become an unrestricted free agent. The 27-year-old big man could do it because he was productive in his 15 minutes per game with the Jazz after the trade.

The Dallas Mavericks desperately need a big man that can rebound and protect the rim, and Jones could be an interesting option off the bench if he becomes a free agent this summer.
