1. Josh Green

The 22-year-old Josh Green is having a breakout third NBA season where he is averaging 9.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.8 steals in 24.8 minutes per game. Green is shooting 54.9 percent from the field and 42.3 percent on his 3-point tries. The 6’5 wing plays with a ton of energy and brings a unique skill set to the floor.

Green is more than just a traditional 3-and-D wing. The still-developing third-year pro can handle the ball, attack the rim, and find open teammates. His ability to make plays and create some offense separates him from the Mavs' other wing options.

His growth over the last year has been impressive. Green was completely played off the floor in the playoffs last season because he would not shoot when left wide-open. Now, he is hitting over 42 percent from 3-point range on 2.8 attempts per game. The 22-year-old has far from reached his ceiling too. There are still a few more leaps left to make.

Josh Green is rookie extension eligible this summer, and the Dallas Mavericks prioritized keeping him and Jaden Hardy at the deadline. They believe in their two young talents, but how much is the team willing to give the 6’5 wing to keep him long-term? The Mavs would prefer to extend him now before he becomes a restricted free agent in the summer of 2024, but can the two sides work out a deal?
