5 way too early Dallas Mavericks free agent targets for the summer of 2023

Free agent Dallas Mavericks should target in 2023: 2. Seth Curry
The Mavs want to put shooters around Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Fans have seen the open looks they can generate in their small sample of games together. Trying to defend two superstars puts the defense into a bind and forces them to make difficult decisions at every second.
Dallas is among the best teams in the league at generating open looks. Now imagine them adding one of the best 3-point shooters in the world back to their roster. Seth Curry will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and the 32-year-old has had some of his best seasons with the Mavericks.
Curry played starter’s minutes for the first time in Dallas, and he shot 45.2 percent from 3-point range the last time he was Luka Doncic’s teammate in 2020. The 6’2 guard is a sharpshooter, who has made 43.6 percent of his career 1,853 3-point attempts.
The 32-year-old has dealt with injury issues in recent years that will likely limit his market in free agency. Could the Dallas Mavericks sign Seth Curry for the taxpayer mid-level exception and trade for a 3-and-D wing? Curry would make the team a bit small in the backcourt, but it would give them an elite floor spacer playing next to the best shot-creating duo in the league.
How much will Seth Curry get in free agency? If he is in the mid-level exception territory, expect the Dallas Mavericks to make an offer.
