Will the Dallas Mavericks trade for Jae Crowder this offseason?

Is Jae Crowder even available? He posted the cryptic message on social media, but has he formally requested a trade? The Suns want to win and have a short window to do so with an aging Chris Paul. They are not going to want to take a step backward, and Crowder plays a key defensive and floor spacing role for the team.

The Dallas Mavericks will be interested in acquiring Jae Crowder. They traded for him back on draft night 2012. After two and a half seasons, the Mavs shipped Crowder to Boston in the infamous Rajon Rondo trade. Dallas was interested when Crowder was a free agent in 2020, but he signed a multi-year deal with the Suns.

Jae Crowder figures to draw plenty of interest from around the league if he becomes available. 6’6 wings that can guard multiple positions, knock down triples, and just make their teams better do not become available that often. Crowder is the type of player every successful team needs.

The Dallas Mavericks will have interest in Crowder, but the odds of them acquiring him sit at less than ten percent. Are the Suns shopping him after his cryptic Tweet? Will they trade him at all? The Phoenix front office is not eager to do so because he helped them reach the NBA Finals in 2021.
