Takeaway from Dallas Mavericks win over Timberwolves: 1. Luka makes right plays

Luka Doncic and head coach Jason Kidd were both ejected in Monday’s meeting. The 23-year-old let his emotions get the best of him as he struggled to make shots, and he was not getting foul calls. Kidd defended his star player, which resulted in both hitting the showers early, and the Mavericks falling to the Timberwolves.

Minnesota has historically done well at slowing down Luka Doncic, and Wednesday was no different. They sent two at the Mavericks superstar and forced him to give the ball up. It resulted in Luka being forced to make multiple plays like this to get his on Dec. 21.

Doncic finished with 25 points, nine rebounds, ten assists, and three steals in 37 minutes of action on Wednesday night. He was eight of 16 from the field and eight of nine from the foul line. Minnesota holding him under 30 points for two straight games was impressive, but Luka made all the right plays as the Mavericks picked up an important win on Dec. 21.

The Dallas Mavericks conclude their four-game road trip on Friday night as they travel to Houston to face the Rockets. Dallas lost the first meeting between the two teams this season, so expect Luka Doncic to go off as the Mavs need a victory to get back over .500. Do not miss it.
