Takeaway from Dallas Mavericks win over Suns: 2. Green shines on both ends

Josh Green is having a breakout third NBA season, and he may have had his best game against the Suns. The 6โ€™5 wing made plays on both ends of the floor. He entered a bit earlier in the first quarter because Spencer Dinwiddie picked up two early fouls. Green used the additional time to have ten first-quarter points, including multiple impressive plays.

The blowout win opened up more minutes for Josh Green, and the 22-year-old finished with 16 points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 31 minutes of action. He was six of seven from the field as the Mavericks outscored the Suns by 26 points with Green on the floor.

Green stood out, but it was a fantastic all-around game for the Mavs. They got 21 points from Spencer Dinwiddie, Christian Wood put up 18, and Tim Hardaway Jr. had 17. Green did it on both ends, but Dallas is tough to defeat when their role players are supporting Luka Doncic.

Green has taken a massive step forward this season. He always brought energy and effort, but the 6โ€™5 wing upgraded his jumper and is playing with additional confidence. Expect Josh Green to keep earning more minutes as he continues his breakout campaign.
