Takeaway from Dallas Mavericks loss to Bucks: 1. Luka keeps producing

Luka Doncic played 43 minutes on Saturday, and nobody would have blamed him for struggling on the second night of a back-to-back against the team with the top defensive rating in the NBA, but not number 77. He was locked in to face Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Doncic even nailed a catch and shoot three on Sunday night.

Luka went for 27 points, five rebounds, and 12 assists in 35 minutes of action against the Bucks. He was ten of 20 from the field, but it was far from Doncic’s best game. The 23-year-old made just four of his nine free throws, and he had six turnovers on Sunday night. Still, number 77 produced MVP numbers even on the second night of a back-to-back.

Luka Doncic is unstoppable right now, but the rest of the roster needs to offer more support. The Mavs brought their offense on Sunday night, but the defense was simply not good enough. Dallas must play better if they want to get back on track.

The Dallas Mavericks will look to snap their four-game losing streak on Tuesday night at the American Airlines Center against the defending champion Golden State Warriors. Luka Doncic and company would love to get a bit of revenge from last season’s playoffs, and fans know number 77 will be locked in, so do not miss it.
