What should fans expect from a prime Jaden Hardy under Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd?

This is what excites people most about the draft. Every player is still in the early stages of their basketball journey, and nobody knows what these players will ultimately become. If they did, why would Nikola Jokic and Khris Middleton slip into the second round? The draft is an inexact science.

Expectations should be low for Jaden Hardy in year one, but he could be fantastic at his peak. Think a 20-point per game scorer that averages five rebounds and five assists per game. Fans know Kidd will be preaching defense, so expect the 20-year-old to make significant strides there too. Could Hardy become like Middleton or Bradley Beal? Is he more Jordan Clarkson?

Jaden Hardy can already score, and he has zero fear. Fans have seen him try to dunk on someone multiple times during the Las Vegas Summer League. The 20-year-old also appears eager to learn and improve too.

Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd will attempt to work his developmental magic again with Hardy. Can he improve his efficiency, playmaking, and defense? Time will tell, but it won’t be for lack of trying. He won’t be a star tomorrow but do not be surprised if Jaden Hardy ends up being the steal of the 2022 NBA Draft, and fans will have J-Kidd and his staff to thank if he does.
