Chandler Parsons shares his pitch for players looking to join Dallas Mavericks
By Tyler Watts
The Dallas Mavericks helped make Chandler Parsons an incredibly rich man. He signed a three deal worth $46 million with the Mavs in 2014 before opting out of the final season and agreeing to a four-year $94.8 million deal with the Memphis Grizzlies. Parsons helped Dallas reach the playoffs two straight years as he earned a massive contract.
Things went south for the 6’9 forward after signing with the Grizzlies. He had several leg injuries, which limited him to just 95 games over the next three seasons combined before being traded to the Hawks where he played just five contests before a car accident ended his career.
Parsons has some unofficial front office experience, and he shared what his pitch would be to current players that were thinking about joining the Mavericks. Let us take a closer look at how the 33-year-old would sell Dallas.

Parsons was extremely close with Mavs owner Mark Cuban during his time in Dallas, and he let players know why they should join forces with Luka Doncic.
The best players win in the NBA, and the Mavericks have unquestionably one of the top five in Luka Doncic. He made his case to be atop the list during the team’s run to the Western Conference Finals in 2022.
Parsons also plans on selling perspective talent on the city, the lack of taxes, and playing for owner Mark Cuban. Together it is a compelling package, but the Mavericks are struggling to land another marquee talent to pair with Doncic. They traded for Kristaps Porzingis in 2019, but that did not work out as planned, and Jalen Brunson left this offseason to join the Knicks.
Can the Dallas Mavericks land a second star? Do they need one to reach the NBA Finals? Those are questions that Cuban and the front office have to answer if they want to keep Luka Doncic in Dallas like they did Dirk. If the Mavs are looking for someone to sell talent on choosing Dallas, Chandler Parsons appears ready to do just that.
