Will Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic be a full-go in training camp?
This is the biggest question for media day. Doncic just wrapped up a grueling summer of competition for the Slovenian National Team that included four World Cup qualifiers and EuroBasket along with a handful of exhibition tune-up games. The European championships had a difficult schedule that featured five games in seven days during the group stage.
Doncic had his wrist tapped throughout the tournament, and he was seen limping in the team’s shocking quarterfinal loss to Poland. The 6’7 guard admitted after the game that he received an injection during the contest, but Luka made no excuses for the loss.
Is Doncic healthy to start training camp? The Mavericks will likely be careful with the 23-year-old superstar after a long summer of competition, but Luka wants to play. He will take part in practices, but do not be surprised to see Dallas hold him out of at least one of their three preseason games. Doncic is ready to play right now, but it may be best if he takes a short break before ramping up for the 82-game regular season.
Dallas Mavericks fans should be excited for media day and the 2022-2023 season. Can the team get back to the conference finals? Never count out Luka Doncic, and supporters know there will be plenty of fun, drama, and intrigue ahead, so do not miss it.
