Dallas Mavericks biggest rival of 2021-2022 season: 1. LA Clippers

The Mavs are going to be geared up for every game against the Clippers this season after LA knocked them out in the first round of the playoffs two straight years. Dallas held 2-0 and 3-2 advantages over LAC last season before falling in seven games. The Mavericks and their fans are ready for round three this season.

Dallas took two of the three regular-season meetings last year, including that 51-point destruction in LA on Dec. 27, 2020. Luka Doncic has been outstanding against the Clippers, but his supporting cast must be better if the Mavs want to gain the upper hand.

LA will be without Kawhi Leonard for most or all of the regular season after he suffered an ACL injury in the second round of the playoffs. The Klaw is usually conservative with injuries, so do not be surprised to see him miss the entire regular season.

The Dallas Mavericks have to take care of business against LA without Kawhi. They are the better team and will need to finish ahead of two of these three teams to land in the top four in the Western Conference. Having homecourt is massive if the Mavs want to win their first playoff series since they took home the title in 2011.
