Caitlin Clark draws Luka Doncic comparison ahead of 2024 WNBA Draft

March and April is the best time of the year when it comes to basketball.

March marks the NCAA's annual March Madness Tournament and April marks the beginning of the NBA Playoffs. There isn't a better time of year than this for basketball fans, and the Dallas Mavericks' playoff journey begins on Sunday against the LA Clippers.

This will be a tough matchup for Dallas, but with Luka Doncic playing at an MVP level, the Mavs are a team that no one wants to see in the first round.

While Doncic has dominated the NBA over the last few months, Iowa's Caitlin Clark has dominated women's college basketball. Although Clark and Iowa's run ended as they lost in the National Championship to South Carolina, she left a mark on the game that will never fade away.

Clark's game was even compared to Stephen Curry's by Doncic, and Clark received a new comparison on the day of the 2024 WNBA Draft from ESPN's Tim Legler on First Take.

"I actually think the comparison is more apt to Luka Doncic than it is Steph Curry," Legler said. "Luka was a target when he got to the league because of the way he carried himself, and guess what? Eventually, you’re good enough, they stop coming for you on that level and they just accept your greatness."

Most of Legler's point was referring to how both Doncic and Clark were "targets" when they entered their leagues, but he also praised her on-court production.

He harped on Clark's passing ability and her ability to make her teammates better.

Clark is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick tonight by the Indiana Fever, and she has the chance to be one of the greatest guards in WNBA history.

Doncic, on the other hand, is preparing for Dallas' first-round series against the Clippers that starts in less than a week. This is the third time in the last five years that the Mavs have battled the Clippers in the first round, and this is a matchup that fans can't wait to see.
