10. Dallas Mavericks choose Cason Wallace
The Dallas Mavericks would be thrilled if Taylor Hendricks falls to 10, but that may be too good to be true. They need a defensive wing, but none of the wings available at 10 would be players that could help Dallas win now.
Alternatively, Dallas can add that 3-and-D wing in free agency and add a backup point guard through the draft in Cason Wallace.
Wallace is originally from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and would get to stay home for the first chapter of his NBA career. He averaged 11.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and two steals per game as a freshman at Kentucky.
He would fit great in Dallas as he can guard both guard spots and is a competitor. Wallace doesn't back down from any challenge and would be a great fit off the bench next to Jaden Hardy. He also can guard some wings due to his length and feel for the game.
On offense, Wallace is a smart point guard that is an excellent three-point shooter off the catch. He isn't the best at creating his own shot yet but having players like Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and Hardy would help him add some moves to his bag.
This isn't the most flashy pick for Dallas, but they address the need for a defensive-minded player off the bench.
