There is no doubt that tanking needs to be the name of the game for the Dallas Mavericks as they aim to pair franchise superstar Cooper Flagg with another young prodigy in this coming summer's NBA Draft. While there have been multiple names that have piqued fans' interest, Duke's Cam Boozer has continued to be a prospect fans salivate over the possibility of being in a Mavericks uniform and being a running mate alongside a young Flagg.

With Boozer being a projected top-three pick with some mock drafts even having the big man going as far as the first overall pick, the Mavericks would need to get lucky yet again to have any chance at selecting another Duke standout. Alongside Flagg, Boozer may be the perfect big man to unlock the full potential of the Flagg era and unlock many more lineups for Jason Kidd and Dallas' coaching staff to scheme around.

Cam Boozer can easily be Dallas' co-star alongside Cooper Flagg

Despite it being so early in the Flagg-led era for the Mavericks, the team is already searching for ways to acquire a co-star for the franchise savior. Trading or even signing someone in free agency would be an easy way to acquire a pro-ready star, but being able to pair the 19-year-old with someone who is the same age or even younger should be at the top of any priority list for the Mavericks' front office.

With that in mind, Boozer should be one of the top targets for the Mavericks, no matter how unlikely it may be for the team to move into the top three in the draft. Boozer's fit alongside Flagg is already easy to see, being that they are both Duke prospects and have similar timelines, but even their playstyles would complement each other and the other three players on the floor so well.

At the fresh age of 18, Boozer is already tearing up the NCAA with 22.6 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists per game on uber-efficient 58.3 percent shooting from the floor. Boozer has already entered a territory of rarity when it comes to college basketball, but his fit alongside Flagg would be seamless the second he walks through the doors in Dallas.

Boozer has wowed scouts with his impressive finishing capabilities at the rim and his pro-ready strength, but what makes him super fun to watch is his ability to dissect the opposing team's defense through his dribble drive and passing abilities. Alongside Flagg, he could help create one of the league's most dynamic young offensive duos in history.

Boozer may be perfect, but what are the odds Dallas actually lands him?

Despite Boozer being the perfect fit for a Flagg-led Dallas squad, the likelihood that the Mavericks could even sniff a top-four pick, yet a draft position where Boozer would be guaranteed, is slim. The Mavericks got extremely lucky winning last season's draft lottery with 1.8 percent odds, and while the odds may be better in Dallas' favor this time around, it's still unlikely the Mavericks will even get a shot at moving up in this season's draft.

As of now, Dallas has a 23.4 percent chance of landing in the top three of the draft. If they move up in the lottery standings, these odds will increase.

Being that both players have deep ties to Duke, the match can already be seen, but the Flagg and Boozer duo may be one that fans are left questioning what the two could have looked like on the floor together.
