Lakers fans are ignoring what Mavericks will never forget about Luka Doncic

Two seasons before that, he propelled the Mavericks to the Western Conference Finals. They hadn't made it out of the first round of the playoffs since their 2011 title run before Doncic helped Dallas take down the Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns in 2022.

Mavericks fans quickly realized that Doncic is a playoff riser, and he was the exact player they needed to lead the franchise after Dirk Nowitzki retired.

Winning is fragile in today's NBA, and Lakers fans need to realize how good they have it. Los Angeles traded for Doncic for an unbelievably low price, and his playoff greatness will shine through in no time.

Mavericks fans were blessed with six and a half seasons of Luka Doncic's greatness, and they're sick of seeing the way that national media and Lakers fans are treating him. Doncic deserves to be criticized, just like anyone else, but seemingly everyone is forgetting that he has already proven that he can win on the biggest stage.

Doncic elevates his game once April hits, and if the Lakers can put the right team around him, they'll be in a prime position to be one of the top teams in the Western Conference. The West is stacked as ever, but Doncic has what it takes to go toe-to-toe with the NBA's best.

Every NBA superstar has their flaws, and Lakers fans will have to learn to live with them. Winning will make this easier, and Los Angeles making a deep run in the 2026 NBA Playoffs will help silence these worries.
