We are less than one week away until Cooper Flagg is officially a member of the Dallas Mavericks.

Flagg recently had a visit with the Dallas Mavericks, where he spent around an hour on the floor doing a workout, and it was reported that he was "unreal" in his workout, sources told our very own Noah Weber of The Smoking Cuban.

ESPN's Tim MacMahon went on NBA Today and shared some information on Flagg's visit to Dallas. He mentioned that Jason Kidd sees similar attributes of Grant Hill in Flagg's game.

Cooper Flagg's skillset is very similar to prime Grant Hill

"I'm told Jason Kidd sees shades of another Duke guy and Cooper Flagg, a guy who J-Kidd shared the Rookie of the Year Award with, Grant Hill," MacMahon stated.

Not only are Flagg and Hill both some of the best basketball players to come out of Duke, but they also share some very similar on-court attributes.

Coming out of college, Hill was an above-average defender who could also facilitate the basketball very efficiently. In his first six seasons of his NBA career, he averaged close to or above 20 points, five-plus assists, and six to nine rebounds per game. Hill was a generational do-it-all kind of player when he first entered the league.

Now, no one is saying that Flagg will end up having a similar career to Hill, but it's quite obvious that they share a lot of talented skills.

In a few of Hill's beginning seasons with the Detroit Pistons, he led the team in points, rebounds, and assists. This is something similar to what Flagg did at Duke in his freshman season, where he led the Blue Devils in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.

Hill was able to do it all on both ends of the floor, and if Flagg can do that as well, the sky is truly the limit.

MacMahon added that Flagg is going to have the opportunity to play a point forward type of role for the Mavericks while Kyrie Irving is recovering from his ACL injury.

"He's gonna have the ball in his hands a lot, and J-Kidd thinks he can facilitate," MacMahon said.

It will be very interesting to see what position Flagg starts the season at. With the Mavericks hopefully holding onto P.J. Washington this offseason, there could be a potential situation where Flagg starts at shooting guard in order to allow Washington to stay at small forward in the starting lineup.

Regardless of what position Flagg will play for the Mavericks, it's quite obvious he will be decently relied on to make the right play with the ball in his hands.
